Learning Begins at Corpus Christi School

WARWOOD, W.Va., March 21, 2017 — There are many reasons why Corpus Christi School is the right choice for children, including a safe environment, diverse extracurricular opportunities, winning athletics, uniform dress code, and opportunities for parental involvement in the school.

Prospective students are invited to attend an open house from 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday, March 30 and discover more about the Corpus Christi difference.

“Our focus is enriching our students’ lives through a quality religious education, collaborative working environment, individualized classroom instruction, and rigorous academic standards,” said Principal Dick Taylor who has been with the school for 41 years either as a teacher or a principal.

Having celebrated 100-years of Catholic education last June, Corpus Christi is a strong community presence and part of the Corpus Christi Parish, led by Pastor Monsignor Eugene Ostrowski. Ostrowski, a former Marist brother, also teaches Algebra to the eighth grade students.

“We encourage all faiths and interested families to visit us to learn why CCS is the right school for your child. Come mingle with faculty, students, parents, and tour the school,” said Miranda Shaner, advancement director.

“We offer a variety of scholarships and parents can apply for the Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program for help. It is truly our desire to make a CCS education more accessible for interested families, so please attend our open house. Parents will also be able to discuss financial aid opportunities and we will be happy to answer any questions,” Taylor said. “The return on your investment is priceless.”

CCS is offering a shadow day for interested learners to come spend the day visiting academic classes with a current student. Children can experience Corpus Christi School on a first-hand basis. This will give them a glimpse of a day in the life of a Crusader and help them be successful in transitioning into school. Shadowing appointments can be made anytime by contacting the main office at 304-277-1220.

“We would be pleased to show you what we have to offer your family at our open house. We hope to see you on March 30 and we are here everyday to answer your questions,” Shaner said.

Families can register for the next academic year of 2017-18, online at corpuschristiwheeling.com/admissions/how-to-apply or, by visiting the school’s main office located on the second floor of the school building at 1512 Warwood Avenue.

Please call 304-277-1220 for more information. CCS is conveniently located just a few miles north of Wheeling, across from Garden Park.
